Save Searches & Activate Alerts

The best feature of MarketChorus Resonance: Discover, in our humble opinions, is the ability to configure automated alerts to notify you by email, Slack, and MS Teams when new content is published that match the associated saved search.

Save searches from the Discover dashboard. When you’re satisfied with the results of your search, click the Save Search button in the search summary section at the top of the dashboard.

This features allows you to build a search once and then continue to stay informed about any topic that merits attention, with zero additional effort. Instead of actively spending time scanning the news every day for relevant headlines (as we’ve all done) you can passively monitor many thousands more websites, and still waste less of your precious time than before.

There are currently 3 types of alerts:

  • Email
  • Slack
  • MS Teams
Once you’ve saved a search, a summary of the search will appear on the Saved screen, along with controls to activate alerts and other available actions.

Email Alerts

Email alerts provide an at-a-glance summary of the ten most relevant and engaged new articles published since the last alert and buttons/links to view the current search results. It’s important to note that Resonance’s data set is constantly evolving as new articles are added and aging content is removed (find out why we only index content for 7 days).

Think of email alerts as your daily recap of the news on a given topic. It’s a curated list, rather than a comprehensive one. These are the very best results Resonance found in the last 24 hours.

Slack Alerts

Alerts to Slack occur in near real-time (we check for new articles every 15 minutes and send new alerts hourly). Our Slack integration allows you to see every matching article, not just the top 10, and to share your results with your entire team by outputting the notifications to a shared channel.

Slack alerts provide a quick at-a-glance overview of each article that matches the criteria of the related search, up to once per hour.
When you activate Slack alerts, you’ll be asked to select the channel where you want the alerts to be displayed. Options will include any channel you can access as well as your own private channel.

Microsoft Teams Alerts

Much like Slack Alerts, alerts to Microsoft Teams occur whenever new articles are published which match the related search. The alert contains title, description, featured image, and a link to the article. A button is included with each alert which will open the related search in a new window, for closer inspection.
